Lemme clear up a few things. I am a very fit chunky old guy. Yeah. 64, 185, 5’ 10”, 32” inseam who easily qualified and ran the Boston Marathon again in April this year. Needless to say, some of the meat hangs a bit loose on the bone.
I just got my first pair of these 2XU LSR compression shorts. Now, I have been fighting some nasty chafing my whole life. I finished Boston abraded in many places you don’t want to know. That first shower I was screaming and not from muscle pain… I have been trying every combination of shorts and jocks and briefs and nada and chamois butt’r, body glide, you name it. I’m always raw somewhere after a long run, much worse in the heat obviously.
I ran 19 miles today, the middle 8 at 7:55 pace, almost 80F and some humidity. I had literally ZERO chafing going commando under these shorts. I cannot express what a total game changer this is. Not to mention I have not run with real compression from groin to knee before. OMG I cannot wait for Richmond this Nov. I wish they made a full body suit of this stuff. One more note: I read a couple (many) reviews first of course. Couple of comments about where to put your junk. These shorts run small. I’m wearing a large and they are gud-n-tite. No lie I was very worried about chafing the package first time I tried them on. So I wore them for the first time on a 6xmile track workout last week. It was not too hot, like 70F, so while I had zero chafing I figured only the long run would really tell all. Back to…
